Project Overview
The Metro Vancouver Transit Police headquarters in New Westminster, BC, reached capacity, and its third-floor space could not support further growth of the transit system.
The renovation work was divided into two phases to prioritize the female washroom and locker facilities, allowing TransLink to hire female police officers.
Phase One scope included creating a female locker room and washroom, specialized lockers to secure service weapons, a public washroom, security meshing embedded in the walls, a revised display case and access controls.
Phase Two included installing surveillance cameras, RFID readers, access control, constructing a meeting room and a training/multipurpose room, multiple offices and workspace area, a secured interview room and storage for specialized equipment.
