Project Overview
The Niagara Falls Water Treatment Plant (NFWTP), rated at 145.5 ML/d, services the City of Niagara Falls and parts of Thorold and the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Niagara Region initiated a project at the NFWTP to improve/ optimize the dechlorination process and upgrade the process waste system.
The major upgrades include a new dechlorination system, a catch basin manhole, and improvements to the sludge handling system. We replaced associated electrical equipment, modified the 600 mm diameter backwash wastewater valve chamber, and removed and replaced the existing driveway.
Kenaidan’s contract included site restoration works, coordination with the Region’s operations and maintenance staff, and start-up, commissioning, and turnover to the Region.
