Project Overview

This conventional water treatment plant draws raw water from Lake Erie. Kenaidan’s scope of work involves upgrades to Plant 3.

Work removed a Leopold underdrain system, filter media, and agitator piping. Concrete repairs in the filters, clearwell, and equalization tanks included a cementitious protective waterproof coating, and mechanical installations involved a blower system, related piping, and a new Leopold underdrain system.

We replaced the filter effluent piping, sludge piping and pumps, and two dewatering pumps and piping and installed a jet mixing system consisting of two pumps and piping.

Work included asbestos abatement in the underdrain, piping, and HVAC ducting insulation and replacing the power feeds through a new underground duct bank to the reconfigured MCC. The facility will remain operational throughout construction.
