Project Overview
The Non-Passenger Screening Vehicle Checkpoint project at Pearson International Airport provides security screening for non-passenger vehicles entering the airside of the airport from the south.
Our contract installed five separate structures, including three pre-engineered vehicle canopies allowing vehicle queueing and inspection, the Non-Passenger Screening Vehicle building, and a 96-metre-long retaining wall.
The work required complex coordination between the groundside and airside work areas to allow for continual maintenance and monitoring of safety and security systems. To perform the work in this highly secure environment, Kenaidan installed a groundside ‘Work Pocket.’ This delineated secured areas and allowed construction activities to pass within airside grounds without the time-consuming and rigorous security checks.
