Project Overview

The Guildwood GO Station provides access to GO Train passengers travelling on the Lakeshore East Corridor. It is also a stop for VIA Rail passengers.

The upgraded facility features a new and expanded station building, reconstructed train platforms, and surface lots. This project involved installing and upgrading fare systems, utilities, storm drainage, LED parking lot lighting, landscaping, and CCTV and PA systems.

Work improved the north and south platforms, including two pre-cast pedestrian tunnels, four elevators, four stairs, snow melting systems, and continuous canopies with integrated heated shelters. We enhanced parking lots north and south of the rail corridor and the Kiss & Ride drop-off areas for improved traffic flow.

These upgrades include provisions for adding a fourth track and support two-way, all-day service for GO Transit patrons on non-shared, dedicated tracks.

This project is the recipient of a 2021 Toronto Urban Design Award of Merit, Public Buildings in Context, winner of the 2019 Ontario Concrete Project of the Year for Excellence and Innovation, and recipient of the 2019 Ontario Concrete Award – Infrastructure Category.
