Project Overview
This project is part of TTC’s Multi-Year Accessibility Plan to provide system-wide accessibility improvements to all transit stations. We updated architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems to accommodate the modifications.
The scope of this contract provides a barrier-free path from the main entrance to all levels of the station, including installing two elevators to access the eastbound and westbound platforms. Another accessibility feature is the new automatic sliding entry doors. We performed electrical and mechanical upgrades to lighting, plumbing, and HVAC systems, accompanied by new ceilings, signage, and CCTV security cameras along the accessible pathway.
Exterior work included a glazing system to enclose the elevators with other treatments to the building façade. The pedestrian platforms and pavement were upgraded, and new lighting and signage were installed to improve wayfinding.
